FREQUENT QUESTIONS

FLOWERS & ORDERS

HOW LONG WILL MY FLOWERS LAST?

Typically, the high-end blooms used in your arrangement will last 5-7 days. Please note, Mother Nature has the ultimate say. Each flower is on its own timeline of unfolding. Some blooms will fade and pass before others just begin opening. Enjoy this ever-changing process that will happen during the lifecycle of your sacred arrangement. Feel free to remove unwanted or undesirable stems as their lifecycle comes to an end. Leaving dead flowers in the vase will promote bacteria growth and shorten the lifespan of other flowers.

It’s also important to note that, as a true lover of nature, I source locally and organically whenever possible. I refrain from using harsh chemicals and synthetic sprays to promote flower longevity. and avoid GMO grown blooms when I can. I believe the impact those types of chemicals have on our planet far out-weighs the extra day or two you may get from your blooms. There are many other florists that are available for longer lasting blooms, like carnations and mums, but I tend to select specialty flowers for their uniqueness that often have a shorter lifespan.

IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE MY FLOWERS LAST LONGER?

Yes! The flora will appreciate fresh water everyday. You can run a heavy stream of tap water to flush out any bacteria, while leaving behind the fresh water. It’s best to place your arrangement in a cool place, out of direct sunlight.

If you’d like to go above and beyond, you can add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (to fight bacteria) and a pinch of sugar (they have a sweet tooth).

WHAT IS THIS STRANGE METAL, SPIKEY THING AT THE BOTTOM OF MY VASE? AND WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?

It’s a sustainable alternative to toxic flower foam used in many traditional arrangements. It’s call a flower frog! I use this in order to create elaborate and dynamic designs without having to overcompensate with filler flowers or greens.

I have an upcycle program that allows the mechanics of your arrangement to be recycled and reused. As a lover of Mother Earth, I offer a $10 flower credit on purchases o$75 or more when you return your vase and flower frog.
